Samantha Calhoun, OD

Dr. Samantha Calhoun received her bachelors degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry. She then obtained her doctorate degree in Optometry from UAB, where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and a student fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She completed clinical rotations at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, Nashville Eye Group and Premier Medical Group. During these rotations she received training in ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eyes, as well as training in fitting both hard and soft contact lenses.

Dr. Calhoun is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Alabama Optometric Association (ALOA).

Dr. Calhoun is originally from Clanton, AL. She and her husband moved to the Mobile area after she graduated. They are active members at their church where they help with the worship team and the youth group. In her free time, Dr. Calhoun likes to read, visit the beach, travel and hike. She also enjoys spending time with her two dogs.
