Recycling something as small as a contact lens can make a big difference! Bausch + Lomb and TerraCycle® joined together to create the ONE by ONE Recycling Program, the only sponsored contact lens recycling program in the U.S., to help reduce the environmental impact of used contact lenses and packaging.
You can make a difference too! Collect your used blister packs, top foil, and lenses. Recycle them by dropping off items at a participating location.
Program accepted waste: Biotrue® ONEday brand contact lenses and blister packs, as well as other Bausch + Lomb brand contact lenses and blister packs. We will also accept contact lenses and blister packs from all brands.
Please note: Biotrue® ONEday and other Bausch + Lomb brand cardboard boxes are recyclable through regular municipal recycling. Please do not include them in your shipments through this program.
The Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Recycling Program has helped to collect nearly 20 million used contact lens items. That‘s over 120,000 pounds! The latest upcycled creation from this collection was used with other recycled materials to help build items for the Guide Dog Foundation. Now, future service dogs for the blind and visually impaired have new training modules and equipment to learn on.
In addition, the Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Recycling Program donates $10 to Optometry Giving Sight, the only global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision by providing eye exams and eyeglasses to those in need, for every 10 pounds of contact lens waste collected from participating ONE by ONE recycling centers.
